More Artistry from a Self-Proclaimed Non-Artist

So I did some concept art for my next project which I should really come up with a name for so that I can stop calling it “my next project.” That’s it, fuck it, from now on the game shall be known as “Paradox.” Working title or final title I don’t give a damn, that’s what I’m calling it.

Hit the jump to see the concept art that was the purpose of this post in the first place.

All of these concepts are simply drawings that I will then make the more stylistic pixel art such as my last art post from.

Also, all images can be clicked to be viewed full size.

First up we have the concept for Lilith who, if you were following the site a long time ago, you should have seen an extremely early running animation for, and whose recently was shown off in a more final state in my last art post.

As you can see I pretty much hit the nail on the head getting exactly what I wanted first try. Then it was just a matter of experimenting with armor, accessories, etc.

The shoulder pad and Omnomasaur hair pin didn’t make it into the final version, the shoulder pads not really fitting in well, and the hair pin being too small to be added in the pixel art.

Next up we have probably my favorite enemy designs, the Peer and the Seed.

Yes, these enemies are obvious parodies of BitTorrent culture.

The Peers and Seeds will appear in groups of 3-5 Peers and 1 Seed. The Peers are a standard attacking enemy that will use melee and projectile attacks against the player, and the Seed serves as a high HP medic which will provide powerful healing and support for the Peers.

The final versions of these enemies will likely be much less complex as the nature of the final pixel art really doesn’t allow for such great detail. Also I don’t want to have to animate all that crazy shit I drew on them.

Well that’s it for now. Please comment and tell me whatever you want.

I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your internet site. It’s a quite straightforward on the eyes which makes it significantly more pleasant for me to come here and go to much more often. Did you hire out a designer to create your theme? Superb work!
